This course provides a comprehensive overview of transportation systems, focusing on the planning, design, construction and maintenance of efficient and sustainable transportation infrastructure. Through real-world case studies, students will develop the skills needed to design and implement transportation solutions that address the growing demands of urbanization and mobility while ensuring safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility. Students will also examine the historical impact of transportation on societal development, urbanization and economic growth as well as the challenges faced by engineers in creating sustainable and efficient transport systems throughout history.
